Choosing the Bait

Place the bait a little further back. Enough that the skunk will have to go fully into the trap in order to eat it, but not enough that it can easily remove the bait from the back of the trap without going inside of it. Check the next day to see if the trap has caught the skunk or another animal. If the bait you chose is not working after some uses, you can try switching it for another.
